官方題型：read the diary and write the missing words; one word on each line。整份閱讀與寫作卷 40 分鐘。
題目說明（rubric）依照官方題型格式以英文呈現；以下練習題為埃森美語原創編寫，用於熟悉題型，非劍橋官方試題。官方免費樣卷：cambridgeenglish.org → A2 Flyers preparation。
這一大題考什麼
Emma 的日記有五個空格、沒有選項，孩子要自己寫出一個文法小字，像 to、than、since。
做完再打開：這份題目的陷阱與拿分重點
- 'much colder ___ I expected' 前面有比較級 colder，後面就接 than；先找空格前的比較級。
- 'has been swimming there ___ he was a boy'：現在完成式加上一個起點，用 since，不用 for。
- 每格只寫一個字而且要拼對；意思對但拼錯也不給分。
讀這篇日記，每一格填一個字。這一部分沒有選項，要自己想。第一個是範例。
Emma's diary
Dear Diary,
We are having a wonderful week at my grandparents' house by the sea. Yesterday we went (1) the beach and I swam in the sea for the first time (2) year.
The water was much colder (3) I expected, and I only stayed in for ten minutes! Grandpa laughed at me. He says he has been swimming there (4) he was a boy, and that you get used to it.
Tomorrow we are going to sail out to the island (5) the weather is good. I hope it is.
