第一部分　單句寫作

參考答案：My brother doesn't play the guitar.

現在簡單式的否定：主詞是第三人稱單數，用 doesn't ＋ 原形動詞；plays 要變回 play。

參考答案：Did Linda go to the zoo yesterday?

過去式問句：Did ＋ 主詞 ＋ 原形動詞；went 要變回 go，句尾用問號。

參考答案：They were watching TV at eight last night.

時間改為過去（at eight last night），進行式的 be 動詞跟著改成過去式：are → were。

參考答案：That bag is not as heavy as this one.

A is heavier than B ＝ B is not as heavy as A。not as…as 中間用形容詞原級 heavy。

參考答案：How does Sam go to school?

劃線部分 by bus 是『方式』，用 How 發問；主詞第三人稱單數，助動詞用 does，goes 改回 go。

參考答案：We stayed home because it was raining.

because 後面接原因（下雨），放在結果（待在家）之後。

參考答案：Mary likes apples, but she doesn't like bananas.

but 連接相反的兩件事；第二次提到 Mary 改用代名詞 she，比較自然。

參考答案：After I finished my homework, I played video games.

After 引導的子句放句首時，後面要加逗號再接主要子句。

參考答案：Do you know where Kevin lives?

間接問句：問句放進 Do you know 後面要改回直述句語序（where Kevin lives），does 拿掉，live 加 s。

參考答案：The girl who is wearing a red dress is my cousin.

用關係代名詞 who 修飾人：The girl who is wearing a red dress 是一個完整的主詞，後面接 is my cousin。

參考答案：Amy often goes to the library after school.

頻率副詞 often 放在一般動詞 goes 前面；goes to the library 是固定組合。

參考答案：Could you help me with my math homework?

禮貌請求：Could you ＋ 原形動詞；help me with＋事情＝幫我做某事。

參考答案：My father has never been to Japan.

現在完成式 has been to＝曾經去過；never 放在 has 和 been 中間。

參考答案：How far is it from here to the MRT station?

問距離用 How far is it from A to B?；疑問句 is 放在 it 前面。

參考答案：The test was too difficult to finish in thirty minutes.

too ＋ 形容詞 ＋ to ＋ 原形動詞＝太…而無法…。
