ContentAs soon as Mia looked at her phone, she knew something was wrong.
ContentFifteen messages had appeared in the class group chat in the last ten minutes, and her name was mentioned in almost every one.
LanguageHer hands were shaking as she scrolled up to see what had happened.
LanguageSomebody had posted an old photo of her from a school trip, one she had never wanted anyone to see, and the comments underneath were cruel.
OrganisationMia's stomach tightened.
ContentShe had trusted her classmates, and now she felt completely exposed.
OrganisationShe was about to turn off her phone forever when a new message appeared from Leo, the boy who had posted the photo in the first place.
was about to... when...
Content"I'm really sorry, Mia. I didn't think about how it would make you feel. I've deleted it, and I already told everyone to stop."
LanguageMia stared at the screen, surprised.
OrganisationShe had expected silence, not an apology.
ContentSlowly, the unkind comments disappeared one by one, replaced by supportive messages instead.
OrganisationBy the time she went to bed, Mia realised that even in a group chat, people could still choose to be kind.
